Responding to demand from wireless infrastructure equipment manufacturers targeting advanced 3G and 4G systems, the company is quickly ramping up the availability of its communications devices based on a 45-nm process technology. It is now sampling the PowerQUICC MPC8569E processor, dual-core QorIQ P2020 device, and the six-core MSC8156 StarCore digital-signal processor (DSP). According to the company, the devices are sampling to more than a dozen OEMs and are being used in the development of next-generation infrastructure solutions.
