Microchip MCUs Add Pin-Mapping And More Flash

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, San Jose, CA. - Eight emerging members of the PIC24F 16-bit microcontroller family extend the line into smaller and lower cost 28- and 44-pin packages with 16 KB to 64 KB of flash memory and up to 8 KB of RAM. The PIC24FJ64GA002 is said to pack more memory than any other 28-pin, 16-bit MCU. Notable, all members of the PIC24FJ64GA004 family allow the use of all onboard peripherals via the ability to map them to any pin through a peripheral-pin-select mapping function. The devices come in QFN packages as small as a 6 mm x 6 mm. In addition to pin mapping, they feature two independent I2C, UART, and SPI channels. All members of the PIC24FJ64GA004 family are available now for general sampling and volume production with prices starting at $1.69 each/10,000. MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY INC., Chandler, AZ.
