Embarking as the first in the company’s line of power amps targeting the 3G and 4G femtocell markets, the AWB7220 power amplifier (PA) is a highly-isolated, fully-matched multi-chip module for use in femtocell and customer premises equipment worldwide. A 4.5V module, it operates from 2.5 GHz to 2.7 GHz with extended operational capability between 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz. Groomed for OFDMA waveforms such as 802.16 WiMax, the module delivers up to 28 dBm (P1dB = 35dBm) of output power with 30 dB of gain. The AWB7220 employs the company’s proprietary InGaP-Plus technology that promises state-of-the-art reliability, temperature stability, and ruggedness. Its self-contained 7 mm x 7 mm x 1 mm surface-mount package integrates matching networks optimized for output power, efficiency, and linearity in a 50-Ohm system.
