Embedded: Fast-Booting PC/104 Plus SBC

The SBC1491ET x86 PC/104 single-board computer offers a 133-MHz STPC Atlas processor, 64 Mbytes of RAM, and a 576-Mbyte flash memory disk that boots DOS in under 5 seconds. The board also has two serial ports, PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports, and SuperVGA video. It has a battery-backed-up real-time clock plus AT-compatible interrupt, timer, and DMA controllers. Free DOS development tools can be downloaded from the company's Web site. Support for Linux, Windows CE, and VxWorks also is available. Pricing starts at $455.
