Atom-Sized Transistor Ready For Use In Chips By John Edwards, Contributing Editor
Measuring less than 50 atoms wide and one atom thick, Andre Geim's graphene transistor may represent the best hope yet for delaying the expiration of Moore's Law. Geim and fellow University of Manchester professor Kostya Novoselov have discovered a new material class: a two-dimensional crystal, representing a single sheet of atoms. PCIe Gen2 Clock Buffers Handle 5 Gbits/s With Very Low Jitter
Able to operate at the PCI Express (PCIe) Gen2 data rate of 5 Gbits/s, a new famiy of high-performance, zero-delay clock buffer products from Pericom semiconductor Corp. supports Intel Xeon dual-core processor server applications. The devices provide from four to 19 separate PCIe outputs on one IC and exceed the Gen2 jitter requirements.

The CoroBot is based on a 1.2-GHz VIA Mini-ITX motherboard with 512 Mbytes of RAM and a 20-Gbyte hard disk suitable for software platforms like Microsoft's Robotics Studio. The four-wheel-drive system supports 802.11 wireless and a 640-by-480 USB camera.

Macraigor Systems LLC has added debugging and control support for several new processors: the ARM Cortex-M3 family of CPUs, the Freescale MPC 83xx PowerQUICC II Pro family, the AMD Geode GX/LX processors, and the Marvell PXA3xx family.
