10-Bit ADCs Boost Dynamic Performance

Oct. 8, 2008
The MAX19515, MAX19516, and MAX19517 family of dual-channel, 10-bit a/d converters deliver sample rates up to 65, 100, and 130 Msamples/s, respectively. Allegedly the industry's lowest, the devices consume 43 mW (MAX19515), 57 mW (MAX19516), and 75 mW

The MAX19515, MAX19516, and MAX19517 family of dual-channel, 10-bit a/d converters deliver sample rates up to 65, 100, and 130 Msamples/s, respectively. Allegedly the industry's lowest, the devices consume 43 mW (MAX19515), 57 mW (MAX19516), and 75 mW (MAX19517) of analog power per channel. Additionally, the devices boost dynamic performance with a 60-dBFS SNR and an 85-dBC SFDR at 70 MHz. They provide a self-sensing, analog supply regulator that allows users to operate the devices from 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V analog supplies. Other shared features include single-ended or differential clock inputs, analog inputs with a 0.4V to 1.4V input common-mode range to support ac/dc-coupled inputs, a clock divider to eliminate the need for an external divider, and integrated CMOS output termination resistors. Available in 48-pin, 7 mm x 7 mm TQFNs, prices start at $7.50 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
