Able to generate 2 kW of output power, the HVI 2K DC/DC converter accepts a nominal 600-V dc input voltage (450 V to 800 V range). This single-output unit delivers 12 V/130 A, 24 V/80 A or 48 V/40 A, with other outputs available on request. An optional built-in redundancy diode allows for parallel and N+1 operation. The HVI 2K is suitable for rugged applications in industrial plants, alternative energy conversion (such as solar cells), and electric vehicles. To ensure high reliability and long operating life, all critical components on the primary side are designed and tested for corona inception levels significantly higher than the operating voltage. The HVI 2K is filtered to meet EN55022 Class A conducted and radiated EMI standards and it is designed to meet IEC61010-1 Ed. 2, IEC 62103 Ed. 1, UL 508C and related standards. It measures 7.4 x 5.2 x 16 in. (187 x 132 x 407 mm) and can be mounted in a chassis or 19-in. rack. Built-in fans provide sufficient airflow for operation over a temperature range of 0°C to 50°C with wider temperature ranges available. Other options include heavy ruggedizing and conformal coating for operation in extreme environments. The HVI 2K is priced at $1287 each in quantities of one to four, depending on options.
