Promising to eliminate 25 or more discrete components, the LME49810 200V audio-amplifier driver with integrated Baker clamp contains all the essential audio circuitry required for a power amplifier output stage driver. A compact device, it also enables slimmer designs with, reportedly, more channels and more power per square-inch of chassis space. Designed to drive discrete transistors in systems delivering up to 3 kW, the device specifies a THD+N of 0.0007% and a 50-mA output capability. Output power is scalable by varying the output-stage supply, output configurations, and selection of power transistors. When the amplifier is overdriven, the Baker clamp minimizes both distortion and the potential for speaker damage. Other specs include a slew rate of 50 V/µs, PSRR of 110 dB, and an operating voltage range of ±20V to ±100V. Available in a 15-lead TO-247 package, price is $8.50 each/100.
