Designers who need to match resolution with power can do so with the AD9237 12-bit monolithic a/d converter. The device samples at 20-, 40- or 65-MSPS, consuming less power at each lower sampling rate. At 65 MSPS, power consumption is 190 mW, at 40 MSPS it is 135 mW, and at 20 MSPS, 90 mW. An internal sample-and-hold circuit allows for a variety of user-selectable input ranges and offsets including single-ended applications. It runs from a single 3V supply and features a separate digital output driver supply to accommodate 2.5V and 3.0V logic families. The device is supplied in a 32-pin LFSCP (lead frame chip scale package) measuring 5 mm x 5 mm. It operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Pricing ranges between $7.75 and $12.40 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES INC., Wilmington, MA. (781) 937-1428.
