Designed for 3V power supply applications, the LTC1860L and LTC1864L serial 12-bit and 16-bit A/D converters, respectively, sample at rates up to 150 ksamples/s while consuming 450 µA of current. At 1 ksamples/s, current draw is 10 µA. Both devices include SPI serial I/O and employ self-clocking conversion to allow operation to be independent of the shift clock frequency. This reportedly enables the devices to operate with low clock speeds or with high clock speeds to save processor overhead. The ADCs also offer true differential inputs. Screened for commercial and industrial temperature ranges, the LTC1860L and LTC1864L are available in MSOP-8 and SO-8 packages priced at $2.75 and $5.95, respectively, each/1,000.
