Promising higher performance in digital set-top boxes, cable modems, and terrestrial receiver systems, the UPC3231GV AGC/video amplifier combines a 30 to 90 MHz AGC amplifier with an on-chip video amplifier that provides output for both ODFM modulators and QPSK/QAM data transmission. With a gain control of 61 dB, the device can handle a wide range of input signals. Typical performance specifications include a gain of 65 dB, noise figure of 5 dB, distortion specifications of 53 dBc IM3 at -20d dBm PIN and 105 µV (0.5 Vp-p)/tone, and operation from a 5V supply. Available in an 8-pin SSOP GV package measuring 2.9 mm x 4.9 mm, price is $0.99 each/10,000. CALIFORNIA EASTERN LABORATORIES, Santa Clara, CA. (408) 988-3500.
