The PCM1600 is a six-channel audio D/A converter featuring 24-bit resolution, a 96-kHz sampling rate, dynamic range of 105 dB, and a THD+N of -96 dB across all six channels. The DAC is offered as a versatile solution optimized for DVD players, AV and HDTV receivers, car-audio and home-theater systems, surround-sound processors, and digital mixing consoles. An internal digital filter operates at an 8x oversampling rate with selectable sharp or slow roll off and offers -82-dB stopband attenuation and ±0.002-dB passband ripple. Other features of the DAC include digital attenuation, mute, and zero flag for each channel. Standard audio formats, 16-, 18-, 20- and 24-bit audio data are accepted and the device can be used with 256-, 384-, 512-, or 768-fs system clocks. Packaged in a 48-lead LQFP, the PCM1600 D/A converter operates on either 3.3V or 5V and is priced at $8.95 each/1000.
