Designed for power-supply margining and adjustment, the two-channel DS4422 and four-channel DS4424 seven-bit d/a converters feature I2C control and power-up in a neutral, or zero-current, output condition to minimize system-startup overhead requirements. This also allows the power supply feedback resistors to perform in a standard manner. Both devices employ an external resistor to program the full-scale current for each output from 50 mA to 200 mA with an accuracy of ±6%. The I2C bus can then be used to linearly set output currents to any of 127 sink or 127 source steps, up to the maximum value. Two address inputs allow control of as many as four devices or sixteen separate supplies on a single I2C bus.
