Dual-Channel ADC Saves Space And Power

Jan. 7, 2011
Supposedly the market’s smallest ADC, the 12-bit MAX11645 measures 1.9 mm x 2.2 mm x 0.64 mm in a wafer-level package with a 4 x 3 bump array and a 0.5-mm pitch.

Supposedly the market’s smallest ADC, the 12-bit MAX11645 measures 1.9 mm x 2.2 mm x 0.64 mm in a wafer-level package with a 4 x 3 bump array and a 0.5-mm pitch. The device saves more space by requiring only a 0.1-mF ceramic bypass capacitor on the supply input. Other features include a power dissipation of 18 mW at 1-ms conversion times, sample rates up to 94 ksamples/s, operation from a single 2.7V to 3.6V supply, a 2.048V internal reference, up to 70-dB SINAD, ±1 LSB (max) INL and DNL error, and a 0.3-ppm/°C gain-error temperature drift.
