The CSR/CSRN series of thick-film current-sense chip resistors offer a low-cost solution for low resistance values in applications where high-temperature operations and low TCR are less important. The thick-film technology provides a TCR of 200 ppm or better for most sizes and can still supply a 1% tolerance as standard. The series comes is a wide variety of sizes from 0402 to 2512 in standard EIA sizes and also offers some unique sizes for products that require high-power density. The new 0815-size part is slightly larger than the standard 1206 yet offers a 1-W rating. Similarly, the 1225-size chip has a 3-W rating in a size normally capable of only 2 W. The CSR/CSRN resistors come on standard 7-in. reels. Some sizes and resistance values may also be available on 1k reels. Prices vary with size, tolerance, and resistance values and range from about $0.03 each to $0.30 each in reel quantities. STACKPOLE ELECTRONICS INC., Raleigh, NC. (918) 850-9500.
