Low-Noise Op Amp Boasts Wide Bandwidth

STMicroelectronics' TSH300 is a low noise, wide bandwidth operational amplifier for high-end industrial, medical, and instrumentation applications.

STMicroelectronics has introduced a low noise, wide bandwidth operational amplifier for high-end industrial, medical, and instrumentation applications.

The TSH300 features low input noise of 0.65 nV/sqrt (Hz) coupled with a bandwidth of 200 MHz at a gain of 5 V/V (GBP = 1 GHz). Its high slew rate (230 V/µs) and good linearity (SFDR of 55 dBc measured with a 10-MHz output sine wave of 2 Vpk-pk into a 100-_ load) make the TSH300 useful in analog-to-digital converter (ADC) interface applications.

The TSH300’s low noise performance and wide bandwidth are due to a fast 0.25-_m complementary bipolar manufacturing process. This makes the device useful for systems such as sensor preamplifiers and ultrasound imaging, where very small and very fast signals need to be amplified with high gain without adding significant noise and while preserving a good signal-to-noise ratio.

The amplifier is stable for gains greater than 5, enabling it to be used at high-gain values for small-amplitude input signals. Its topology allows it to be used in inverting mode with excellent frequency response, providing good performance when combining two devices in the differential configuration. Voltage feedback architecture allows the use of reactive elements in the feedback loop, as required for many filter topologies. It operates from 4.5 to 5.5 V on either single or dual supplies.

AVAILABILITY
The TSH300 is available now in SO-8 and SOT23-5L packages.PRICING
