The company's next-generation of horizontal deflection transistors (HDTs) features high-voltage capabilities and the high switching speeds needed for high-resolution monitors and wide-screen TVs. The devices cater to monitors with horizontal frequencies up to 130 kHz and color TVs up to 34" wide. Other features of the HDTs include a thinner epitaxial layer and an optimized cell design using a hollow, multiple-emitter structure, allowing a high-current capability, wider safe-operating area, and lower power loss. The devices are available in TO-3PF and TO-264 packages with collector-to-base breakdown voltage ratings of 1,500V with current ratings from 10A to 25A and 1,700V at 20A. Prices range from $0.65 to $1.60 each/1,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR INTERNATIONAL, South Portland, ME. (888) 522-5372.
