Two high-speed op amps, the MIC920 and MIC921, are said to provide an order of magnitude improvement in the ratio of slew rate to power consumption when compared to competing devices. The MIC920 provides a 3,000 V/µs slew rate with 550 µA supply current, while the MIC921 provides a 3,200 V/µs slew rate with 360 µA supply current. Gain-bandwidth product for the MIC920 is 80 MHz, while for the MIC921 is 45 MHz. Both are capable of driving unlimited capacitance. Regarding PSRR and CMRR, specs for the MIC920 are 104 dB and 91 dB, repectively, while for the MIC921 the specs are 105 dB and 92 dB, respectively. Both are specified for supply voltages from ±2.5V to ±9V. In SC70-5 packaging, the devices are priced at $1.25 each/1,000. Samples are available immediately and production quantities are available eight weeks ARO. MICREL SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (408) 944-0800.
