Forecasting unique, dynamic user experiences for consumer electronics, the TrueTouch touchscreen devices, based on a programmable system-on-chip architecture, include a single-chip touchscreen solution that can interpret up to 10 inputs from all areas of the screen simultaneously. Dubbed multi-touch all-point, this feature enables designers to create distinctive usage models for products such as mobile handsets, portable media players, GPS, and other products. In addition to multi-touch all-point devices, the TrueTouch family includes chips that perform traditional touchscreen functions including interpreting single touches, and gestures such as tap, double-tap, pan, pinch, scroll, and rotate, and they support projected capacitive touchscreens. The TrueTouch family includes the CY8CTST1xx single-touch devices, CY8CTMG1xx multi-touch gesture devices, and the CY8CTMA100 multi-touch all point device. In 32- and 56-pin QFN packages, the family will be sampling in August with production coming in September. CYPRESS SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., San Jose, CA. (800) 541-4736.
