The LTC1664 is a quad 10-bit rail-to-rail voltage-output micropower digital-to-analog converter (DAC). It only consumes 60 µA per DAC, including the four internal rail-to-rail output amplifiers. In sleep mode, the supply current drops to 1 µA. Available in the tiny 16-pin narrow SSOP package, with an SO-8 footprint, this DAC can operate from 2.7 to 5.5 V. The reference pin has constant impedance over all codes, and the reference input can be tied to the supply pin for ratiometric rail-to-rail output. Meanwhile, the ±0.75 LSB (max) differential nonlinearity (DNL) guarantees monotonic performance, which is critical in control-loop applications. The 3-wire cascadable serial interface simplifies transmitting through isolation barriers or to remote locations, while allowing several LTC1664s to be connected together for daisy-chain operation. Pin-compatible with the LTC1660, Octal 10-bit rail-to-rail VOUT DAC, the LTC1664 comes in a 16-pin PDIP and in a 16-pin SSOP. Both are available in commercial and industrial temperature ranges. Pricing starts at $2.95 each in 1000-piece quantities.
