Small PA Cuts Component Cost

Poised for Bluetooth, 802.15.4/ZigBee, and other 2.4-GHz applications, the uPG2251T6M GaAs power amplifier (PA) eliminates the need for RF component matching, which reportedly reduces component count, saves bill of materials cost, and simplifies procurement. Measuring 2 mm x 2 mm, the device is said to be one of the smallest PAs in the industry. Features include an operating frequency range from 2.4 GHZ to 2.5 GHz, an output power of +25 dBm (Vcont = 1.8V) and -45 dBm (Vcont = 0V, Shutdown), and an efficiency of 47%. Pricing for the UPG2251T6M is $0.82 each/100,000. CALIFORNIA EASTERN LABORATORIES, Santa Clara, CA. (408) 988-3500.
