SoCs Address Fax/Print Apps

The CX9543X family of SoCs target fax machines with inkjet, laser, and thermal printing capabilities and are available in a variety of configurations and support optional features including answering machine, speakerphone, and intercom capabilities. The devices employ the company’s V.17 SoftFax technology to enable the transmission of documents and feature dual voice ADCs/DACs, multiple voice inputs and outputs including a speaker amplifier, a cross-point switch, and additional ADCs for scanner and other analog sensor inputs. The SoCs also include direct printer control and USB interfaces. For imaging, they integrate a 180-MHz/32-bit RISC processor, 120-MHz DSP image processor, and three 288-MHz I/O processors. Additional features include proprietary SmartDAA technology, which eliminates the need for components required for discrete data access arrangement DAA.
