First in a family of ultra-small-footprint packages, the ISL99201 and ISL99202 are audio amplifiers that are particularly well suited for use in smart phones, PDAs, game consoles, MP3 and personal media players, personal navigation devices and LCD TVs. The ISL99201, available in a nine-bump 0.4-mm-pitch WCSP, is claimed as the world’s smallest Class D amplifier. It is a filterless, fully integrated, high-efficiency mono amplifier capable of delivering up to 2.5 W into a 4-? load. It features a low-noise modulation scheme, operating with 86% efficiency at 400 mW into 8 ?, and has a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) that is better than 95 dB. Available in a 12-bump, 0.4-mm-pitch WCSP, the ISL99202 is claimed as the world’s smallest stereo cap-free headphone amplifier, and supports speaker impedances from 16 ? to 600 ?. Its ultra-wide operating voltage of 2.4 V to 5.5 V makes the amplifier suited for use in mobile battery-powered applications that use 2 AA or single-cell Li-Ion batteries, as well as in notebook computers using 3.3V to 5V power supplies. It is also available in 12-lead TQFN package. The ISL99201 is available now in eight-lead TDFN packages with prices starting at $0.56 each in lots of 1000. In a nine-bump WCSP, prices start at $0.47 each. The ISL99202 is sampling now in 12-lead TQFN and 0.4-mm-pitch, 12-ball WLCSP, with prices of $0.72 and $0.65 each, respectively, in lots of 1000.
