Wolfson’s DAC/Class D Amp Combo Ensures Battery Longevity

\[September 18, 2006\] Extending battery life in a range of portable products, the WM8956 audio d/a converter integrates a stereo Class D amplifier that achieves an efficiency of 87% and a THD of 0.03% at full power, stated as 1W per channel into an 8W load. Simultaneously, the converter and amplifier consume an operating power of 10 mW while reaching a SNR of 98 dB.
