CUI Joins PMBus Forum

Aug. 19, 2009
CUI, whose V-Infinity business unit licenses Power-One's ZBus technology uses the PMBus Interface.

CUI Inc. is now a member of the Power Management Bus (PMBus) Implementers Forum. PMBus is an industry standard developed to allow power converters to communicate over a digital bus. Current PMBus adopters include semiconductor companies TI, Infineon, and Intersil; power-supply companies Delta and Artesyn; and OEMs Dell and Intel.

CUI’s power division, V-Infinity, continues to focus on technologies that support the green initiative. One such technology is digital power. The digital power market segment is just entering the adolescent stage according to the Darnell Group, and by 2010 will pass 5 billion units in cumulative sales.

As technology moves towards greener applications, communication and intelligence with data becomes essential for the successful implementation of these technologies. As a potential adopter of PMBus, CUI feels that it is essential that they are part of the forum that manages this standard.
