Santa Clara, Calif.: Differentiated ASIC solutions company ChipX inked an agreement with Oki Semiconductor Company, a division of Oki America, regarding asset purchase and business collaboration. Under the agreement, the entire Oki Semiconductor U.S. ASIC engineering team, ASIC specialists, and marketing personnel will join ChipX. Also, Oki becomes a turnkey foundry for ChipX by licensing its embedded- array and gate-array technologies, as well as internally developed IP, to ChipX.

This transaction will give ChipX the strength to become a broadbased ASIC company, offering products ranging from embedded and gate arrays to structured and standard-cell ASICs.
