Gustavo A. Hoffmann is a staff engineer at Dolby in Nuremberg, Germany. He received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the UNISINOS University (Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos), Brazil, in 2000, and his M.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from the UFRGS University (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul), Brazil, in 2002. He joined Coding Technologies GmbH in 2002, which was later acquired by Dolby in 2007. Since 2002, he has been working on implementation and testing of audio codecs targeting embedded devices and PC applications. Among other projects, he was involved in porting, optimization, and testing activities for the MPEG-4 HE-AAC decoder, the Dolby Digital Plus encoder, and the Dolby AC-4 decoder.
