Aptina introduces automotive-grade imaging SOC

Aptina (www.aptina.com) has introduced the MT9V126, a multi-function CMOS automotive imaging system-on-chip said to feature small AEC-Q 100 packaging, low-light sensitivity (.5 Lux), on-chip lens distortion correction, perspective correction, and a dynamic graphic overlay capability.

Aptina has introduced the MT9V126, a multi-function CMOS automotive imaging system-on-chip said to feature small AEC-Q 100 packaging, low-light sensitivity (.5 Lux), on-chip lens distortion correction, perspective correction, and a dynamic graphic overlay capability. The firm said the chip’s pixel design eliminates structured noise and row noise, resulting in clearer details and better overall picture quality.

The SOC operates between -40º C to 105º C. It lowers system cost by eliminating the need for a DSP/FPGA and a distortion correction lens, it simplifies engineering development with tuning via Host System Commands versus direct register writes, and it supports faster time-to-market with a royalty-free form factor automotive reference design.

Aptina said the SOC provides viewing functionality to support surround view, backseat viewing cameras, and advanced backup cameras.
