Ashok Bindra has been named Editorial Director of both Power Electronics Technology and RF Design magazines. This closer alignment between RF Design and Power Electronics Technology creates a wider breadth of opportunities for advertisers and shapes an editorial and publishing powerhouse as the two brands take advantage of the synergies between them.
Bindra brings Power Electronics Technology magazine more than 20 years of editorial experience covering analog, power devices, and DSP technologies. Most recently, Bindra was with Penton Media’s Electronic Design, where—as a technology editor for more than four years—he covered similar beats. Prior to Electronic Design, he spent more than 13 years as a senior technical editor at CMP’s EE Times, writing special reports and organizing special series in these specialized areas. Bindra broke into this profession as a components editor at McGraw-Hill’s Electronics magazine, after a short stint in the industry as an electronics engineer.
Married and the father of two children, Bindra lives in the Long Island area of New York. He received an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1976 from Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam, N.Y. and holds a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Bombay, India. Bindra has been involved in organizing educational analog/power workshops for engineers and has organized panel sessions and technology forums at conferences like ICSPAT/DSP World Expo and Electro.
