Cinterion modules meet eCall standards

Cinterion Wireless Modules (www.cinterion.com) has introduced its sixth generation of automotive M2M cellular communication modules.

Cinterion Wireless Modules has introduced its sixth generation of automotive M2M cellular communication modules. The AC65i and AC75i are designed to meet the specific requirements of the European eCall initiative and to add telematics features. Potential applications in addition to eCall include toll collection, fleet management, and emergency call and roadside assistance solutions. Both modules are fully type approved for worldwide GSM networks.

The ARM9-based modules feature antenna diagnostics, Remote SIM Access Profile, Radio Link Stability (RLS) monitoring, Radio Interface Layer (RIL) software for devices based on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1, and advanced temperature management.

The AC65i offers Quad-Band GPRS class 12 functionality and is eCall prepared. It features embedded processing based on Java, improved power-saving modes, multi-threading, and on-device debugging. Also eCall prepared, the AC75i has Quad-Band EDGE class 12 as well as GPRS class 12 functionality.
