EM Microelectronic (www.emmicroelectronic.com) has introduced the EM1564, which integrates a 32.768 kHz tuning fork crystal and a CMOS circuit in a 10-pin SMD package.

EM Microelectronic has introduced the EM1564, which integrates a 32.768 kHz tuning fork crystal and a CMOS circuit in a 10-pin SMD package. It’s available with a standard temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C, or an extended temperature range from -40 °C to +125 °C.

Featuring a voltage range from 1.2 V to 5.5 V and 300 nA typical power consumption, the EM1564 can be used as a general-purpose crystal oscillator in digital systems, including automotive dashboard applications. It offers an alternative to standard quartz oscillators, especially in applications where space is limited.
