Johnson Controls reports fourth quarter sales, earnings

Johnson Controls Inc. reported income from continuing operations of $293 million ($1.50 per share) on sales of $6.9 billion for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005, compared with $255 million ($1.31) on sales of $6.4 billion a year ago.

For the first quarter of fiscal 2006, the company said it anticipates sales of $6.8 billion and earnings per share from continuing operations of $0.82 to $0.85. It estimates that fiscal 2006 sales will increase approximately 15%, to $32 billion, and that earnings per share from continuing operations will increase by 13% to 17%, to a range of $5.00 to $5.15.
