Johnson Controls-Saft wins battery business from Chinese automakers

Chery Automobile (www.cheryglobal.com) and SAIC Motor Corporation (www.saicmotor.com) have both selected Johnson Controls-Saft Advanced Power Solutions (www.johnsoncontrols.com www.saftbatteries.com) to supply battery systems.

Chery Automobile and SAIC Motor Corporation have both selected Johnson Controls-Saft Advanced Power Solutions to supply battery systems.

Chery’s A5 ISG hybrid sedan, scheduled for introduction later this year, will be powered by a nickel metal hydride battery system developed by Johnson Controls-Saft while SAIC has selected the joint venture to provide lithion-ion batteries for a demonstration fleet of vehicles.
