Melexis and UMC collaboration yields chips

Melexis (www.melexsis.com) and UMC (www.umc.com) said they are delivering chips for sensors and other automotive applications using UMC’s 18µm eFlash process and eFlash macro.

Melexis and UMC said they are delivering chips for sensors and other automotive applications using UMC’s 18 µm eFlash process and eFlash macro. Melexis’ products include Hall-effect, optical, infrared and micro electromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors; low-power RF, RFID and automotive buscommunication ICs; actuator ICs for electric motors, solenoids and LEDs, and application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). The chip developer and the foundry have been collaborating for several years.
