Peachtree City, GA

Peachtree City, GA- A consortium has been formed to develop, manufacture and market a 0.64-mm terminal system specifically geared at system miniaturization for automotive applications. The consortium is the result of an agreement signed between Siemens Electromechanical Components Inc. and OSRAM Sylvania Electronic Components and Materials. The connector system, based on a 2.54 x 2.54-mm centerline, is claimed to be the industry's smallest, sealed and unsealed, USCAR-endorsed technology terminal system. The new technology reportedly offers a 20% to 30% reduction in system packaging size and weight while maintaining a significant cost advantage when compared to current technologies. The new 0.64-mm terminal system will be sold through existing sales channels of the consortium's twoparticipants.
