Siemens VDO Automotive AG and Ashok Leyland have formed a 50-50 joint venture in Chennai, India, for the development of electronic components and software for instrument cluster applications, cockpit electronics and various control units for commercial vehicles and passenger cars.
“For Siemens VDO, the joint venture is a further step in expanding our presence in growing markets,” said Christoph Maximilian Eisenhardt, CEO Global Commercial Vehicles Business.
Siemens VDO already has around 800 employees in India at locations in Bangalore, Pune and Manesar.
