10-Bit ADC Is Optimized For Imaging

April 1, 1999

Improved image quality in most digital video applications is promised by the ADC10321, a 10-bit a/d converter that provides 20-Ms/s operation. It offers excellent linearity (DNL) of 0.3 LSB and exceptional dynamic performance of 9.2 effective number of bits at Nyquist sampling rates. Power consumption is just 100 mW typical from a single 5V supply .The device's input sample-and-hold amplifiers enable sustained dynamic performance for signals of high input frequency, and lower the converter's input capacitance. With only two clocks instead of the four typically found in comparable ADCs, the ADC10321 offers very low internal latency. An evaluation board and software is available.
