The 2U Type 39 Elite PICMG 2.16-compliant chassis has a four-slot compact packet-switching backplane configured with one fabric slot and three node slots with CompactPCI. One slot can be converted to a system slot via a CPU Enable resistor pin. To enhance modularity, M4 power studs enable the mounting of power interface boards in various configurations to the backplane. The chassis fully complies with IEEE 1101.10/.11 specifications with horizontal mounting for 6U by 160-mm CompactPCI cards from the front and 6U by 80-mm I/O cards from the rear. It can hold one 3.5-in. hard drive and an optional 5.25-in. slim-line CD drive, mounted horizontally. A 150- to 200-W ATX power supply comes standard, and plug-redundant hot-swap power supplies can be installed to ensure system operation in the event of a failure. The 2U Type 39 Elite chassis starts at $875 with a lead time of six to eight weeks.
