36-V DC-DC Converter Module Regulates 0.8-V to 24-V Output

Oct. 8, 2008
The LTM8025 3-A DC-DC converter module accepts up to 36 V of input voltage and outputs up to 24 V. Its 24-V output voltage range is ideal for 12- to 20-V intermediate bus systems and its 36-V input provides sufficient input protection in 24- and 28-V

The LTM8025 3-A DC-DC converter module accepts up to 36 V of input voltage and outputs up to 24 V. Its 24-V output voltage range is ideal for 12- to 20-V intermediate bus systems and its 36-V input provides sufficient input protection in 24- and 28-V systems. The LTM8025 is a complete point-of-load regulator system that includes a DC-DC controller IC, power switches, inductor, compensation circuitry, and input and output bypass capacitors. The module is a molded plastic 9-mm x 15-mm x 4.32-mm LGA surface-mount package that weighs less than 1.8 g. Because of high input and output voltage ratings, the LTM8025 is well suited for applications such as 24-V industrial, 28-V medical and avionics, and 12-V communication systems. Operating temperature range is -40ºC to +125ºC and -55ºC to +125ºC. It is RoHS compliant with gold-plated pads that allow both Pb- and Pb-free solder to be used during board assembly. Pricing in 1000-piece quantities starts at $8.95. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (408) 432-1900.
