Adapter Bridges CompactPCI To PC104+

Sept. 1, 1998

The CompactPCI bus is an emerging standard that provides a modular solution for configuring industrial-grade PC systems. While there are many CompactPCI products on the market, most are CPU boards. I/O adapter boards are less common. With the PCI-Adapter carrier board, virtually any PC104 or PC104-Plus card can be used in a CompactPCI system. The carrier board acts as a PCI bridge and is said to constitute an electrically and mechanically perfect interface between the two buses. The PCI-Adapter board frees system integrators from redesigns of PC104 and PC104-Plus boards, a major time-to-market advantage.
