The Processor AMC (PrAMC) line of advanced mezzanine cards (AMCs) has grown to include a model with the latest 45-nm Intel Core2 Duo processor SL9380 (1.8 GHz) coupled with the Intel 3100 chip set, which comprises an integrated memory and I/O controller. The full-size MIC-5602Rev2 PrAMC supports the latest 45-nm embedded SKU with a thermal design power rating of just 17 W. The AMC also doubles onboard memory options to 4 GB with error-correcting codes. When coupled with an ATCA form-factor carrier or integrated within a MicroTCA chassis, the modules are suited for applications requiring scalable, multi-processor clustering or intelligent co-processor engines for protocol offload, host media processing, encryption/decryption, content and packet processing. The rollout of the MIC-5602Rev2 AMC enables designers to parlay their software investment by redeploying their code across a wider range of processors on a common-core PrAMC design, ensuring full I/O compatibility across the whole family. The board carries one GbE (RJ-45) port, one USB 2.0 port, and one mini-USB console port on the front panel. An AMC connector routes two GbE SERDES transceivers and two SATA ports. The board boots from a network, CompactFlash, SATA, USB, or an on-board flash disk. ADVANTECH, Irvine, CA. (800) 866-6008.
