Amplifier Targets IR Motion Detection Apps

Feb. 1, 2000

Designed to save manufacturers of motion-detection systems development and manufacturing times as well as reduce board space, the ZSBI010 PRI Amplifier is suited for security and building-control applications. The mixed-signal device interfaces with infrared sensors used in security applications and products that turn on lights in a room or building. It can also interface with external control logic or microcontrollers. The chip was developed with an adjustable auto-zero digital filter that is easy to configure, giving manufacturers complete control of the sensitivity of their devices. Auto-zero feedback insures high performance, and low power CMOS supports battery operation. The devices' reduced package size, internal band-gap and low pin count require minimum board space. The chip is available in an 8-pin DIP or SOIC to accommodate surface-mount on densely populated pc boards.
