Designed specifically for mobile computing applications, the SL-86-911 keyboard holds a NEMA 12 rating for resistance to dirt, dust, and liquids. It has 86 keys, which provide 101-key functionality, and a three-button HulaPoint pointing device. The keyboard has three levels of backlighting along with an emergency key, making it well-suited for mobile computing applications and other environments where low light is a concern. The unit finds application in in-vehicle computer systems necessary in low enforcement and public safety.Measuring just 11.25” x 6.25” x 1.80”, the keyboard’s three levels of backlighting (0%, 50%, and 100%) are powered through green LEDs and activated with a single key distinguished by a light bulb. The coiled output cable comes with either Serial/AT or PS/2 connections. The emergency key activates the red LEDs and sends a pre-defined signal.
