A family of surface-mount battery connectors, the 9155 series, features a contact-beam static height of 2.45 mm, 50% lower in Z-axis height than conventional connectors. It is available in three contact positions spaced on 2.5 mm centers. Once fully deflected, the compressed height reduces to 1.3 mm above the circuit board. All contacts are rated to 3A and fabricated in a stamped, gold plated beryllium-copper base material. The high-temperature insulator material can withstand either convection or IR reflow soldering processes. The connectors have an integral end stop to aid in either radial (angular) or slide-in (horizontal) battery engagement. Applications are in mobile phones, PDAs, medical and industrial systems.
