Bluetooth Module Gets Into Tight Spots

Introduced as the industry's smallest Bluetooth module, the Blue Module integrates 60 active and passive components onto a surface-mount ceramic module measuring 14.5 mm x 11.9 mm x 2.3 mm. The module supports USB, UART and PCM interfaces and integrated components include a RF/Baseband IC that is mounted in a cavity on the bottom surface of the substrate as well as a power amplifier and low-noise amplifier. Samples are priced at $100 each and sample kits with an evaluation board and software are available for $300 each.
