Groomed for medical device manufacturers who need to meet the current Health Device Profile, the company’s latest range of Bluetooth modules support almost any wireless medical application. With pre-approved Bluetooth stacks, the modules meet the Health Device Profile and promise to minimize the design effort required to implement short range wireless. For data applications, the BTM411 employs Cambridge Silicon Radio’s BC04 chipset. Supporting a serial-port profile, the module provides a UART interface and a comprehensive AT command set. For medical products that require DSP muscle, the BTM520 series offers a wide range of functions including a high-gain, multilayer ceramic antenna that provides a +10-dBm output. Its Bluetooth stack provides a comprehensive range of profiles and the 32-bit Kalimba DSP running at 64 MIPS allows on-board implementation of a variety of advanced applications. Both modules adhere to the latest Bluetooth standard, Version 2.1+EDR and offer ranges up to 1 km. LAIRD TECHNOLOGIES, St. Louis, MO. (800) 492-2320.
