Boards Improve System Performance By Filling Empty Card Slots

Aug. 1, 1999

Added to firm’s line of enclosure accessories, these air blocker/peripheral mount boards are inserted into unused card slots to block airflow in and out of the empty slot area and to prevent chimney effects, thereby improving system airflow. Front panels provide the system with a finished appearance and easy maintenance. The pieces can be used for mounting internal hard drives. P1 connector jumpers daisy chain signals to allow bypassing of the vacant slot. Versions are available for standard VME/VXI, VME64 Extension, and CompactPCI systems. Front panels heights are 3U, 6U and 9U, with card depths ranging from 160 to 400 mm.
