Touted as the world's smallest ceramic chip resonators, the new SSR-DR Series devices incorporate built-in load capacitors to simplify circuit designs and reduce assembly costs. Measuring just 2.5 mm x 2.2 mm x 1.0 mm, the ultraminiature resonators are manufactured with a proprietary ceramic element material. This material, coupled with a high-precision grinding and evaporation process, produce superior resonant characteristics as well as high resistance to shock and vibration, the company claims. Additionally, the device will withstand most board-cleaning procedures. These attributes make the resonators well suited for clock applications in camcorders, digital cameras, cellular telephones, and other portable electronic equipment, as well as in personal computer peripherals. The SSR-DR Series features an operating frequency range from 20 to 60 MHz, ±0.5%, with several standard frequencies available. Resonant impedance is 60 ohms maximum for 20 to 30 MHz and 100 ohms maximum for 30.1 to 60 MHz, with a temperature stability of ±0.3% over the operating temperature of -20°C to +80°C. Typical pricing for the resonators is under $0.30 each/10,000.
