Chip/Reference Design Enhances MP3

For designers of Internet audio equipment such as MP3 CD players, the SAA7752 CD chip comes with a printed circuit board, support ICs, a software stack, and a full-feature reference design. According to the company, the SAA7752 chip includes advanced digital signal processing, enhanced functionality, and is compatible with a range of CD servo ICs. A design based on the device requires a small number of external components, allowing for slim-line designs and lower system costs. Similar to other devices in the SAA775x DSP family, the SAA7752 features a programmable architecture that supports all current audio decompression algorithms including MP3, AAC, and WMA.
