Via Technologies' EPIA CL motherboard (MB) is found at the center of Niveus Media's compact servers. The Mini-ITX motherboard is based on Via's 266-MHz C3 Eden processor. A pair of Ethernet ports and six USB ports suit it for personal routers/servers. Low-power operation eliminates the need for noisy cooling fans. Niveus Media's Blackbox server line starts at $399 for the Personal Server with an 80-Gbyte hard-disk drive. Web-based management is used to control file and networking services.
